Taiz Governorate Condemns Saudi Airstrike in Al-Barh Area

Taiz:The local authority and Mobilization in the Taiz Governorate have condemned a recent airstrike by Saudi-American aircraft in the Al-Barh area of Maqbanah District. The attack resulted in a tragic incident, claiming the lives of 13 civilians, including both martyrs and wounded individuals.

According to Yemen News Agency, the local authority and Mobilization issued a statement denouncing the airstrike, which directly targeted the home of citizen Mohammed Saeed Al-Quz. The attack led to the complete destruction of the residence, causing significant civilian casualties, with most victims being women and children. The statement described this as part of a series of brutal crimes against the Yemeni people.

The statement further accused the Saudi forces of committing a fully constituted war crime by deliberately targeting civilian homes, labeling it a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian laws. The local authority emphasized that such actions reflect moral bankruptcy and a blatant disregard for Yemeni lives and their right to safety.

Additionally, the statement asserted that the continued targeting of civilians would not weaken the resolve of the Maqbanah District residents, the people of Taiz, or Yemenis at large. Instead, it would bolster their determination to defend their land and sovereignty, with the blood of martyrs fueling their pursuit of justice against the perpetrators.

The local authority and Mobilization called on the international community, along with human rights and humanitarian organizations, to break their silence on these violations. They urged these entities to document the crimes and hold those responsible accountable, stressing the need for serious action against such aggressions.
