Taiz Human Rights Commission Condemns Airstrikes on Health Facilities

Taiz:The branch of the National Human Rights Commission in Taiz Governorate has condemned the targeting of health facilities and civilian objects within the governorate by Saudi aircraft.

According to Yemen News Agency, the commission reported that Saudi aircraft launched a series of airstrikes on the "Bal'an" Health Center in Al-Masrakh District, resulting in its destruction. The attack rendered the facility non-operational, depriving citizens of essential health care services. Additionally, three airstrikes were conducted in Al-Mokha District.

The commission highlighted that targeting health facilities constitutes a violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions. It accused the Saudi forces of persistently undermining basic services and depriving civilians of health care in the region.

The statement from the commission called out the ongoing international silence on these issues, holding the Saudi forces fully responsible for the humanitarian consequences of their actions. It also criticized the UN system for its continued inaction and demanded a clear international condemnation, accountability for those responsible, and measures to protect health facilities and medical personnel.
