Taiz: The agricultural sector in Taiz governorate initiated the first phase of its ambitious tree-planting season today, with an initial planting of 2,100 seedlings. This effort is part of a larger initiative to plant a total of 130,000 coffee and fruit trees, supported by the local authority in collaboration with Bunyan Foundation and local agricultural cooperatives.
According to Yemen News Agency, Abdulwasea al-Shamsi, the acting governor's undersecretary for development, underscored the project's significance in bolstering local agriculture. The initiative aims to decrease dependency on imports and improve food security, aligning with the province's celebrations of the Prophet's birthday.
The inaugural phase prioritizes coffee cultivation in the districts of Sharab al-Rawnah and Salam. This focus highlights the leadership's dedication to developmental projects and the promotion of self-sufficiency amidst ongoing challenges.
