Taiz Rights Network Denounces Body Mutilation as War Crime

Taiz:The Taiz Rights and Freedoms Network declared that the recent acts of body mutilation and prisoner mistreatment by Saudi-aligned mercenaries in the Taiz governorate represent an internationally prohibited war crime deserving of criminal prosecution.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Network reviewed widely circulated video footage confirming the incident's authenticity and the graphic nature of the scenes. The Network's statement highlighted that such actions reflect the extremist Takfiri ideology associated with groups like ISIS and Al-Qaeda, which have been recruited to support Saudi forces in the region.

The Network condemned these acts as violations of religious and moral values, equating the sanctity of the dead with that of the living. It attributed moral and legal responsibility to the Saudi forces, their proxies, and those promoting Takfiri ideology for these ongoing atrocities.

The statement called on the United Nations and international human rights organizations to condemn these crimes publicly. It urged the documentation of all related crimes to ensure that perpetrators face justice.

The Network emphasized that these acts would only strengthen the resolve of the people of Taiz, affirming their belief in the eventual failure of the mercenaries' agenda and the victory of a just cause.
