Thunderstorms and Rough Seas Forecasted Across Multiple Governorates

Sana'a: The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has issued a forecast predicting scattered thunderstorms across several governorates, along with rough seas due to strong winds, over the next 24 hours.

According to Yemen News Agency, the center's weather bulletin highlights that thunderstorms of varying intensity, potentially accompanied by hail, are expected over parts of the governorates of Al Dhale'e, Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, Dhamar, Sana'a, Mahwit, Hajjah, Amran, and Saada. Additionally, scattered rains, sometimes accompanied by thunder, are likely over parts of the highlands of the governorates of Bayda, Lahj, Abyan, Shabwah, Hadramaut, Mahrah, and the western parts of Marib and Jawf.

The center has also indicated that strong to very strong winds are anticipated around the Socotra Archipelago, in the Gulf of Aden, and along the eastern and southern coasts. Meteorological stations recorded significant rainfall over the past 24 hours, with Ibb receiving 49.0 mm, Amran 7.0 mm, Dhamar 3.5 mm, Taiz 0.5 mm, and Mahwit 0.4 mm.

Residents have been cautioned against staying in or crossing flood channels and land bridges during and after rainfall, with a strong advisory to seek shelter from thunderstorms. Furthermore, a warning has been issued to seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains about the dangers of rough seas and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago, in the Gulf of Aden, and along the southern and eastern coasts.
