Tehran: Elham Haji Karimi, Director of the Trade Agreements and International Organizations Revitalization Office at the Iranian Trade Development Organization, stated on Monday that Iran's trade volume with member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) has grown by 82% over the past five years, emphasizing Iran's commitment to strengthening regional trade cooperation.
According to Yemen News Agency, during the first meeting of the technical committee for the ECO trade agreement negotiations (COTA), Haji Karimi noted that Iran's trade with ECO members has witnessed remarkable growth despite the unjust sanctions, the war imposed on the country, and the damage inflicted on some of its trade and economic infrastructure during the war.
She expressed Iran's full readiness to actively participate in the ECO and contribute to drafting a new trade agreement. Haji Karimi emphasized the importance of cooperation among all member states to achieve the vision and prospects of ECO 2035, noting that Iran has focused its economic and trade diplomacy on maximizing interaction with friendly countries, including members of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
