Traffic Police and Yemeni Red Crescent Forge Cooperation in Ambulance and Road Safety

Sana'a: The Director General of Traffic Police, Major General Dr. Bakeel Al-Barashi, discussed with the Executive Director of the Yemeni Red Crescent, Abdullah Al-Azzab, aspects of mutual cooperation in the ambulance and road safety fields. The meeting, which included the Director of the Disaster and Emergency Department at the Red Crescent, Fares Al-Naqib, and the Coordinator of the Disaster Management Unit at the Sana'a branch, Dr. Jaber Rassam, focused on field steps for coordination between the two sides. This collaboration aims to enhance humanitarian and ambulance services across long-distance routes between provinces and within cities.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting approved the provision of equipped ambulances with necessary staff and capabilities, distributing them in some traffic police centers. Additionally, the plan includes providing support in terms of medical equipment, first aid kits, and medicines, and implementing training courses for traffic personnel in first aid.

The two sides also agreed on the Red Crescent's contribution to installing directional and warning signs at dangerous turns and blind spots, implementing awareness programs for drivers, and producing media materials to enhance awareness of road safety and first aid methods.

The Director Generals of Traffic Police and the Red Crescent visited the health unit at the General Traffic Department, where they reviewed the available equipment and its needs. Major General Al-Barashi praised the services provided by the Yemeni Red Crescent to the community, affirming the importance of continuous coordination to achieve common goals in the field of road safety. Meanwhile, Al-Azzab affirmed the Red Crescent's readiness to support the Traffic Police's efforts in rescue and ambulance aspects to achieve the desired results.
