Sanaa: Traffic Police Chief Maj. Gen. Bakil al-Barashi launched a campaign on Saturday to seize violating motorcycles in the capital and several provinces, following a month-long awareness drive. The campaign is set to target unregistered bikes and reckless violations such as riding against traffic, ignoring signals, carrying multiple passengers, and unsafe driving.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Barashi emphasized that the primary goal of this initiative is to protect lives and property. He urged motorcycle riders to regularize their status to ensure compliance with traffic regulations. In conjunction with the campaign, authorities have mandated that dealerships sell only registered bikes equipped with safety gear, aiming to enhance road safety measures.
