Sana'a: The Traffic Police announced a large-scale field campaign to be launched next week to remove debris, unsightly elements, and abandoned vehicles parked in streets and markets that obstruct traffic flow in the districts of the capital Sana'a.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Traffic Police explained that the campaign, which will involve the Traffic Police and relevant transportation and public works offices, comes as part of efforts to regulate traffic, maintain the city's appearance, and prevent traffic congestion.
The statement emphasized that the campaign will include removing abandoned vehicles parked in the streets and addressing haphazard and unsightly elements. It urged vehicle owners to remove their vehicles promptly before the campaign begins to avoid legal action.
The statement called on business owners and shopkeepers to remove the causes of traffic congestion and bottlenecks resulting from haphazard activities or encroachment in front of their shops, thus facilitating traffic flow and maintaining road safety.
The statement added that the campaign will also focus on organizing livestock and sacrificial animal markets, bus diversion points and routes, and other tasks and preparations for Eid al-Adha.
The Traffic Police reiterated their call for citizens and business owners to cooperate with the campaign and adhere to traffic regulations, thereby enhancing traffic discipline and reducing haphazard practices that impede traffic flow on public roads.
