Sana'a: The General Directorate of Traffic Police at the Ministry of Interior issued a statement warning drivers and vehicle owners against exhibitionist practices and reckless driving due to the direct threat they pose to lives and property and their potential exploitation by enemies to create chaos and destabilize internal security.
According to Yemen News Agency, the statement clarified that the most prominent of these behaviors include drifting, reckless speeding, blocking roads for exhibition purposes, driving in convoys that obstruct traffic, exiting from vehicle windows or sunroofs, intentional slowdowns, loading passengers in unauthorized places, exceeding the permitted number in cars and motorcycles, gathering in roads, and throwing objects from cars while driving. These practices were considered a violation of religious teachings, traffic laws and regulations, and a danger to public safety.
The Traffic Police emphasized that it will take strict and immediate measures against any violator caught, with the activation of the electronic monitoring unit to follow up and document traffic violations even after they occur, to ensure no one escapes punishment.
It also referred to information issued by the Ministry of Interior regarding attempts to exploit such actions to create chaos during national occasions, confirming that streets are not a field for tampering or implementing suspicious agendas but a public facility that requires discipline and commitment.
The Traffic Police called on citizens to cooperate with security personnel and report any violations of this kind, considering that maintaining security and safety is a collective responsibility and affirming its readiness to confront any attempt to undermine public tranquility or destabilize stability.
