Sana'a: A training course aimed at enhancing the administrative capabilities of cooperative associations' leadership in Alsabeen and al-Safiya districts of the capital Sana'a concluded on Wednesday. The course was organized by the local authority and Bonyan Development Foundation.
According to Yemen News Agency, the 15-day training, held in collaboration with Bonyan Academy for Training and Development, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, and the Cooperative Agricultural Union Branch in the capital Sana'a, focused on improving the administrative skills of 16 participants from various multi-purpose cooperative associations. The course covered topics such as administration, planning, guidance, evaluation, and financial systems based on a developmental work methodology.
At the conclusion of the course, Dr. Hamoud Ubad, the Governor of Sana'a, emphasized that the training of cooperative association cadres is a pivotal step in strengthening institutional work and enhancing the role of associations in serving the community. This is in line with the current needs of local development and the requirements of the phase. Dr. Ubad also highlighted that investing in the administrative and executive capacities of cooperatives directly impacts their performance, resource management, and the activation of developmental programs. He called for the participants to apply the skills and knowledge they acquired during the course within their associations, enhancing transparency, accountability, and local authority collaboration for the benefit of citizens.
Engineer Mohammed al-Qahoum, the Secretary-General of the Cooperative Agricultural Union, described the course as a systematic step towards fostering a culture of cooperative work. He added that it aimed at building the necessary capacities to transform the associations in the capital into pioneering models capable of leading impactful developmental projects. Al-Qahoum noted that the achievements seen in rural areas, despite limited resources, could be replicated in Sana'a, where there is the human capacity to execute marketing projects in collaboration with other cooperative associations.
