Hodeidah: A training course to qualify 60 beekeepers began in Hodeidah Governorate, organized by the Al-Zuhrah Cooperative Association under the supervision of the association's Honey Unit, as part of its efforts to develop beekeepers' skills aimed at enhancing honey production and improving its quality.
According to Yemen News Agency, the ten-day course aims to enhance the efficiency of beekeepers and enable them to acquire modern skills in managing apiaries and bee care methods, in addition to introducing them to best practices in honey production and marketing, ensuring quality improvement and increased economic returns.
The course seeks to promote the spirit of cooperative work among beekeepers by forming effective production groups capable of developing this vital sector and contributing to achieving self-sufficiency in honey products at the local level.
During the inauguration, District Director Abdulrahman Al-Rifai affirmed that qualifying beekeepers and providing them with scientific and practical knowledge contributes to increasing production and improving honey quality, which positively impacts the local economy and the income level of beekeepers.
For his part, the Association President, Qadi Hazza', explained that the course falls within the strategy of the Al-Zuhrah Association aimed at developing the beekeeping and honey production sector, enhancing the capabilities of beekeepers, and contributing to boosting local production and improving its quality.
He noted that beekeepers represent a fundamental pillar in developing the honey product, calling for enhanced cooperation and coordination between beekeepers and the association to achieve integration in work and improve production and marketing efficiency.
During the course, two production groups were formed, and beekeepers were distributed among them within the framework of applying the cooperative work model. The association also announced a plan to distribute 360 modern beehives to the participants to support them and enable them to apply the acquired skills in the field.
