Launch of Martyr Muhammad Al-Ghamari Football Championship in Hajjah

Hajjah: The Martyr Major General Muhammad Abdulkarim Al-Ghamari Football Championship was launched on Sunday in Hajjah Governorate.

According to Yemen News Agency, the tournament is organized by the Governorate's Youth and Sports Office in cooperation with the General Mobilization Authority. It features teams including Martyr Abu Abdell, Red Crescent from the governorate center, Shabab Al-Aman from Najrah, and Ahli Kashar from Bani Qais.

Hajjah's Mobilization official, Hamoud Al-Maghrabi, and the Director of the Youth and Sports Office, Murad Shalhi, emphasized the importance of the championship in honoring the achievements of Major General Muhammad Al-Ghamari. They highlighted its role in instilling his dedication to combating enemies and the values for which he stood in the minds of the youth.

They also noted that the tournament, held on the anniversary of the martyr, serves as a reminder to renew commitment to the path of the martyrs, uphold faith-based values, and preserve their legacy.

The opening match ended with Shabab Al-Aman defeating Abu Abdell on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Abu Abdell initially led with a goal by Muhammad Al-Hamdani, before Ali Yaqout equalized for Shabab Al-Aman in the second half.

Tomorrow, Red Crescent and Ahli Kashar will compete to determine who advances to the final of the championship.
