Sana'a: A specialized training workshop for facilitators of model production groups was held today in Al-Mahwit Governorate, organized by the Al-Khut Multi-Purpose Agricultural Cooperative Association. This initiative was conducted in collaboration with the local authority, the Agriculture Fisheries and Water Resources Office, the Agricultural Cooperative Union, the Binyan Development Foundation, and the Unit for Financing Agricultural and Fisheries Projects and Initiatives.
According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop aimed to activate the role of facilitators, enhance their capabilities in managing production groups, and foster an exchange of expertise among groups involved in plant and animal value chains. This effort is intended to promote sustainable agricultural development, improve performance, and achieve integration across different production stages.
During the event, Deputy Governor Yahya Al-Dhahiri highlighted the importance of developing the skills of community cadres in supervising production groups. He emphasized that enhancing integration during agricultural production stages is crucial for achieving sustainable development and providing high-quality agricultural products.
Abdulaziz Al-Masoba, the coordinator of the Binyan Foundation in the governorate, explained that the workshop is part of the foundation's broader programs to support and develop local capacities in the agricultural sector. The focus is on promoting innovation, improving productivity, serving the local community, and encouraging cadres to adopt the best agricultural practices.
The workshop covered a range of topics, most notably the monitoring of proper agricultural practices for each crop. This includes processes from seed selection and land preparation to planting, care, marketing, and processing industries. Additionally, it discussed mechanisms for reducing costs, increasing production, and improving quality as part of a plan for the vertical and horizontal expansion of value chains.
