Training Workshop on Beekeeping to Boost Family Livelihoods in Hajjah

Sanaa: A six-day training workshop on sustainable livelihoods through beekeeping began in Hajjah province on Sunday. The program is organized by the Yemeni Red Crescent Society's Hajjah branch with support from the Qatar Red Crescent.

According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop aims to equip 50 participants with modern beekeeping skills and best practices. Speaking at the opening ceremony, deputy governors Ibrahim Amer and Adel Shili, along with district director Issam Al-Wazzan, emphasized the importance of training initiatives that promote modern methods of hive management, honey harvesting, and processing to improve product quality and increase farmers' incomes. They praised the Yemeni Red Crescent and the Qatar Red Crescent for supporting programs that strengthen livelihoods and contribute to the national economy.

Dr. Ahmed Nassar, head of the Yemeni Red Crescent branch in Hajjah, said the workshop forms part of the organization's broader efforts to promote sustainable livelihoods by providing beehives and beekeeping equipment. He also commended the Qatar Red Crescent for supporting programs that promote sustainable agricultural development, enhance local production, and provide beekeepers with modern expertise to maximize the use of available resources.
