Transport & Public Works Ministry Outlines Road Project Plans in Ibb

Sana'a: A meeting was held on Monday in Sana'a, chaired by the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Mohammed Qaheem, and attended by the Governor of Ibb, Abdulwahed Salah, to discuss the mechanism and timeline for implementing a number of priority road projects in Ibb Governorate.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, which was attended by the Undersecretary of the Roads Sector at the Ministry, Engineer Nabil Al-Haifi, and the Director of the Public Works Office in Ibb Governorate, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Shami, approved an implementation program for four adopted road projects. These include the maintenance and rehabilitation of Thirtieth Street (western side) and the main street in Yarim city, funded jointly by the Road Maintenance Fund and the local authority. It also involves the completion of maintenance and restoration works on the (Ibb - Al-Udayn) road, and the maintenance and rehabilitation of the (Taiz - Souq Shaaban - Al-Najd Al-Ahmar) road, funded by the Road Maintenance Fund.

The meeting also reviewed several projects scheduled for implementation in the coming period in Ibb Governorate, most notably the Muthallath Al-Mawasalat road project, the Jiblah valley bridge, as well as the Meytam and Habish roads, due to their importance in linking districts, facilitating transportation, and supporting development.

During the meeting, Minister Qaheem stressed the ministry's commitment to implementing projects according to the highest technical and engineering standards, ensuring their sustainability. He noted that the ministry would mobilize available resources to complete priority projects, considering roads a fundamental pillar of economic and social development and of facilitating citizens' mobility.

For his part, Ibb Governor stated that the implementation of these projects will create a qualitative leap in the level of services provided to citizens, contribute to improving road safety, and facilitate transportation between the governorate's districts, positively reflecting on development and service aspects.
