Sana'a: The Specialized Criminal Court in the capital Sana'a held its first session on Wednesday in the trial of eight defendants in the "Sama Mall" case.

According to Yemen News Agency, during the session presided over by Judge Yahya al-Mansour, the court heard from Prosecutor Khalid Omar regarding the indictment and the list of evidence. The case involves the deaths of Fouad Ayed al-Kholani and his son Hisham, as well as injuries to the child Shaima Numan at Sama Mall.

The court also heard from the public prosecutor and the defense team, who requested a copy of the case file. The court issued arrest warrants for the fugitives in the case.

Furthermore, the court approved the commencement of trial sessions for 38 defendants from the Ministry of Interior of the aggression coalition, accused of committing acts that undermine the independence, unity, and territorial integrity of the Republic of Yemen. They allegedly conspired and collaborated with the Saudi-Emirati coalition and its allies by recruiting themselves to work with the coalition forces, impersonating security and administrative officials, including leaders within the Ministry of Interior, department directors, deputies, district security directors, and local administration officers. They aided these forces in harming the political, administrative, security, military, and economic standing of the country.

Based on this criminal agreement, they issued decrees, statements, and public pronouncements, and carried out sensitive administrative, security, military, and political functions. Through these actions, they sought to support the coalition in its ongoing war against the Republic of Yemen, targeting government institutions, public and private facilities, citizens' homes, markets, educational and service institutions in cities, towns, and rural areas, as well as health centers and hospitals. This weakened the country's defense capabilities and endangered the security and safety of society, and they continue to perpetrate these acts.
