Taiz: A tribal mediation in Mawiyah district of Taiz province successfully resolved a killing case between the Al-Antri and Al-Hassani families. During the reconciliation meeting, attended by the province's Social Affairs Official Hamis Al-Habari, Mawiyah District Director Abdul Salam Hashem, Dr. Ahmed Al-Amiri, and Fares Al-Bahr, the family of the victim, Mohammed Ahmed Al-Antri, announced their pardon for the offender, Haroun Ahmed Al-Hassani, for the sake of Allah and in honor of those present.
According to Yemen News Agency, speaking on behalf of the victim's family, Ahmed Al-Sayyid said the decision to forgive and drop the case stemmed from religious and humanitarian values that encourage tolerance, rejection of revenge, and strengthening social cohesion. He emphasized that the reconciliation reflects the awareness of Yemeni society and its commitment to resolving disputes responsibly, noting that such initiatives help reinforce security, stability, brotherhood, tolerance, and community solidarity.
For his part, the Social Affairs Official noted that Taiz province has witnessed honorable examples of conflict resolution thanks to the cooperation of community leaders and tribal sheikhs, reflecting authentic tribal values in addressing disputes and promoting social peace. Hashem and Al-Bahr explained that the tribal settlement came after intensive efforts with all parties involved, resulting in a positive response, the triumph of reason and wisdom, which helped bring the case to an end.
They also affirmed the local authority's support for tribal reconciliation efforts and all initiatives aimed at ending disputes and revenge-related conflicts.
