Sana'a: Member of the Supreme Political Council, Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor, sent a congratulatory telegram to the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi al-Mashat, on the occasion of the 36th National Day of the Republic of Yemen, commemorating the country's reunification on May 22, 1990.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Bin Habtoor conveyed his warmest congratulations and best wishes not only to al-Houthi and al-Mashat but also to Deputy President Sadiq Amin Abu Ras, fellow members of the Supreme Political Council, Speaker of Parliament Yahya al-Ra'i, and Shura Speaker Mohammed al-Aidaroos. He emphasized the significance of the national achievement realized on May 22, 1990, marking the end of division and conflict and the beginning of a new chapter in Yemen's history.
Bin Habtoor highlighted that Yemeni unity is the destiny of the Yemeni people and an urgent necessity for national stability. He characterized it as a primary source of strength that enables the country to overcome challenges threatening its sovereignty, independence, and stability. He urged that preserving this national achievement is a duty shared by all Yemenis, particularly in the southern governorates, where calls for secession persist.
He reiterated that the challenges faced by the unified state, including schemes by occupiers and adversaries, have not and will not undermine it. He called for collective action to maintain national unity and resist divisive efforts that serve external enemies and their agents.
Dr. Bin Habtoor emphasized that Yemen's unity is essential for the country's honor, dignity, stability, and strength, benefiting not only Yemen but also its Arab and African neighbors. He concluded by praying for Yemen's victory over its adversaries and for the unity to regain its prominence in the minds of the Yemeni people.
