Al-dhale': The local authority and the mobilization committee in Al-Dhale' province organized a speech event on Sunday to commemorate Ashura, marking the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) under the slogan "Far from us is humiliation."
According to Yemen News Agency, the event held in Damt district featured Hussein Al-Madhaji, the governor's deputy, who highlighted the significance of reviving Ashura's memory. He urged the community to derive lessons and morals from the event, adhering to the principles and values exemplified by Imam Hussein and his sacrifices against injustice and tyranny. Al-Madhaji described the Hussein revolution as the cornerstone of revolutions in Islamic history, being the first major instance where truth stood firmly against falsehood to rectify the deviations within the nation of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family).
The speeches at the occasion addressed the reasons behind the nation's deviation from the guidance of the Prophet Muhammad and his household, which has led to its current state of weakness. They emphasized that the current situation in the Gaza Strip represents an ongoing struggle against the domination by Jews and Christians. The speeches reiterated that Yemen remains steadfast in upholding the values and principles championed by Imam Hussein's revolution, supporting truth, and resisting American-Zionist aggression and its regional manifestations.
The event drew attendance from executive, security, and military leaders, as well as social figures, and included two poems commemorating the occasion.
In parallel, another event in Al-Hasha district also marked Ashura under the same slogan. This gathering, attended by district director Ahmed Sufyan, mobilization official Abdulbasit Wajih, executive leaders, and social figures, emphasized the importance of keeping the memory of Ashura alive to draw inspiration from Imam Hussein's patience and sacrifice (peace be upon him). The speeches expressed unwavering allegiance to the banners of guidance and a commitment to emulate Hussein's struggle, supporting the religion, and resisting oppressive powers.
