US-Saudi-Emirati Aggression Leaves Trail of Destruction in Yemen on March 24

Sanaa: On March 24, across multiple years, a series of air and ground raids by the US-Saudi-Emirati coalition resulted in numerous civilian casualties, including women and children. These attacks were concentrated in various governorates, causing extensive damage to properties and civilian infrastructure.

According to Yemen News Agency, on March 24, 2016, coalition airstrikes struck multiple locations in Jawf governorate, including Ham, Motoon, and Al-Maslub districts. The raids inflicted significant damage on farms and homes. Marib governorate also witnessed airstrikes, particularly in the Haylan and Al-Mashjah areas, damaging civilian properties. Taiz governorate was not spared, with strikes damaging the Yemen International Hospital and surrounding areas, as well as several other neighborhoods and districts.

The following year, on March 24, 2017, a deadly airstrike on a vegetable market in Sa'ada city resulted in three civilian deaths and injuries to four others. Further strikes in the Al-Rakwa area of Majz district killed a civilian and a child, with another woman injured. The coalition continued its assault on various districts in Sa'ada, causing substantial damage to civilian properties. Additionally, cluster bombs in the Mawza' district of Taiz governorate claimed the lives of a man and two women.

By March 24, 2018, six civilians, including children, were killed in airstrikes on a farm in the Al-Husayniyah area of Hodeida Governorate. The coalition also targeted areas in Sa'ada governorate, killing and injuring civilians with missile and artillery shelling. Strikes in Hajjah, Jawf, and other governorates resulted in further civilian casualties and property damage.

On March 24, 2019, the aggression continued, with airstrikes and shelling causing injuries and destruction in various districts. Notably, mercenaries fired over 140 artillery shells in Hodeida governorate, damaging homes and farms. Sa'ada governorate also experienced intense shelling, affecting civilian residences and infrastructure.

The attacks persisted on March 24, 2020, with airstrikes targeting districts in Hajjah, Jawf, and Sa'ada governorates. In Hodeida, mercenaries shelled liaison officers' posts and civilian areas, using artillery and various ammunition types to inflict damage on the local population.

By March 24, 2021, the coalition's air force launched numerous airstrikes on Marib, Jawf, and Sa'ada governorates. Spy aircraft dropped bombs in Hodeida, damaging civilian homes. The aggression's mercenaries used rockets and artillery to shell multiple areas, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.

On March 24, 2022, missile and artillery shelling by the Saudi army injured five civilians in Sa'ada governorate. The coalition also launched airstrikes in Hajjah and Marib governorates, while mercenaries shelled several areas in Hodeida, causing further destruction.

Most recently, on March 24, 2023, an unexploded ordnance explosion killed a citizen in the al-Shajan village of Doraihimi District in Hodeida Governorate. The persistence of these aggressive actions highlights the ongoing humanitarian crisis and the devastation faced by civilians in Yemen.
