US-Saudi-Emirati Aggression Results in Civilian Casualties Across Yemen on This Day in History

Sana'a: On this day, June 24, the US-Saudi-Emirati coalition launched multiple airstrikes across various governorates in Yemen, resulting in the deaths and injuries of dozens of civilians over several years.

According to Yemen News Agency, on June 24, 2015, nine civilians lost their lives and five others sustained injuries in airstrikes targeting the Barkan and Araba areas in the Razih border district of Saada Governorate. Notably, the scholar Abdullah al-Humaidha and five family members, including a woman, were killed when their home was bombed in Saqayn district. Multiple homes were damaged or destroyed as a result of the airstrikes.

Further attacks included airstrikes in the Bani Mu'adh area, destruction of Al-Salam School in Haydan district, and raids on various locations in Kitaf district. Additionally, border areas were subjected to missile and artillery shelling, causing extensive damage to civilian properties.

On June 24, 2016, airstrikes targeted Jabal Ham in Al-Maton District, resulting in many casualties and destruction of vehicles. Multiple districts, including Sarwah in Marib and Al-Qabaita in Lahj, were also hit by airstrikes. Mercenaries targeted areas in Sana'a and Taiz governorates with heavy artillery.

The following year, on June 24, 2017, five civilians died in airstrikes at Al-Mashnaq Market in Saada. The aggression continued with numerous airstrikes in Kitaf, Baqim, Ma'rib, and Al-Jawf governorates, causing significant damage to civilian infrastructure.

On June 24, 2018, airstrikes in Hodeida and Saada governorates resulted in the deaths of several civilians, including a child. The attacks also led to the destruction of homes and livestock. In Marib, aircraft targeted a bus carrying food supplies, causing it to catch fire.

In subsequent years, similar patterns of aggression were observed. On June 24, 2019, and 2020, airstrikes and artillery shelling caused injuries and damage across various governorates, including Saada, Hodeida, and Marib. These attacks resulted in the destruction of civilian property and infrastructure.

On June 24, 2021, and 2022, the coalition's air force continued its offensive with airstrikes across Marib, Asir, and Hodeida, while mercenaries established combat fortifications. Residents suffered from ongoing shelling, leading to further casualties and property damage.

The violence persisted into June 24, 2023, with mercenaries fortifying positions in Hodeida and launching artillery attacks on civilian areas. These relentless assaults have left a trail of destruction and suffering for the people of Yemen.
