US-Saudi-Emirati Airstrikes Lead to Civilian Casualties in Yemen Over the Years

Sana'a:Dozens of civilians, including women and children, have been killed and injured in airstrikes by US-Saudi-Emirati forces targeting residential areas and infrastructure across several Yemeni governorates.

According to Yemen News Agency, on October 15, 2015, airstrikes on residential areas in Taiz Governorate resulted in the deaths of 12 citizens, including nine women. The attacks destroyed homes, schools, and facilities in Mawiyah District while further strikes in other districts caused additional damage.

In the capital's municipality, five citizens, including two women and a child, were killed and homes were damaged in the Naqm area. Additional airstrikes in Sana'a Governorate affected homes and agricultural lands in Bani Matar and Bilad Al-Rus Districts.

Airstrikes continued in other regions, including Ibb, Amran, Al-Bayda, and Saada governorates, destroying government complexes, homes, and farms. The attacks often left significant destruction in public and private properties.

On October 15, 2016, strikes in Sana'a and Saada governorates damaged homes, farms, and infrastructure, including telecommunications towers. Further airstrikes targeted areas in Marib, Taiz, Lahj, and Hajjah governorates.

In the following years, similar aggression continued with airstrikes and missile attacks causing civilian casualties and property damage across various governorates, including Saada, Marib, Hodeida, and Al-Jawf. Notably, in 2018, UAE forces were involved in incidents resulting in civilian deaths in Marib.

By October 15, 2023, reconnaissance aircraft had carried out airstrikes in Hays District, Hodeida Governorate, continuing the pattern of violence experienced on the same date in previous years.
