Sana'a: The University of Science and Technology in the capital Sana'a on Wednesday held a commemorative event to mark the Prophet's birthday, emphasizing Yemenis' deep connection to the Prophet and renewing solidarity with Gaza amid ongoing atrocities.
According to Yemen News Agency, in his address, Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research Dr. Hatem al-Duais highlighted the significance of the Prophet's life and struggle as a source of dignity and strength for the nation. Al-Duais recalled Yemenis' early support of the Prophet and their role in spreading Islam worldwide, stressing the importance of emulating his example to achieve success in this life and the hereafter.
University rector Dr. al-Qassim Abbas underlined the importance of honoring the Prophet's birthday while pointing to the genocide and starvation inflicted on Gaza, which he said exposed the failure of international law and UN charters. He noted that the Prophet never compromised with the Jews, citing their treachery throughout history, and praised Gaza's steadfastness as a lasting inspiration.
The event, attended by faculty and students, included poetry and cultural segments reflecting the occasion. It concluded with a solidarity stand for Gaza, denouncing Zionist crimes against civilians amid global silence. A statement from the university condemned the escalating atrocities and urged free people worldwide to rise against injustice, warning that silence over Gaza would eventually engulf all.
