Amanat al-Asimah:Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local and Rural Administration and Development Muhammad Al-Madani, along with Capital Secretary Dr. Hammoud Obbad, have inaugurated the newly rehabilitated veterinary hospital in the capital's secretariat. This reopening marks the 12th anniversary of the 21 September Revolution and was completed at a cost of 45 million and 676 thousand riyals.
According to Yemen News Agency, the rehabilitation and technical upgrades were financed by the local authority through the Agricultural and Fisheries Financing and Initiatives Unit. The project's first phase included enhancements to plant sector activities at the Veterinary Agricultural Institute in Al-Sha'ab District, restoration of the veterinary hospital, and improvements to an artesian well.
The second phase focused on supporting plant and animal sector activities, upgrading and operating modern educational equipment at the veterinary hospital, and providing furnishings and operational devices. Additionally, it involved training for veterinary staff.
Al-Madani highlighted the project's benefits, noting that it serves the districts of the capital's secretariat, Sana'a Governorate, and other regions. It also aids in training institute students and enhances livestock value chains for products such as meat, milk, ghee, and poultry, which are part of 42 chains managed by the Change and Construction government.
Capital Secretary Hammoud Obbad emphasized that economic empowerment and community development projects are valued at approximately 12 billion riyals. The hospital and institute are crucial for supporting the value chain and providing necessary veterinary medicine throughout all stages of animal development.
In meetings with institute staff and students, the officials stressed the importance of enhancing value chain concepts, incorporating them into educational curricula, and supporting food security and self-sufficiency initiatives.
