Saber al-mawadim: Wadi Al-Sahab have been crowned champions of Al-Rasoul Al-Azam Football League in Saber Al-Mawadim District of Taiz Governorate. The team secured the title after defeating Shabab Al-Sirah in the final of the tournament, organized by the Governorate's Youth and Sports Office as part of activities commemorating the Prophet Mohammed's birthday for 1448 AH.
According to Yemen News Agency, Wadi Al-Sahab took the initiative early, launching attacks and asserting their presence before Shabab Al-Sirah regained their balance, equalized from a penalty kick, and then scored a second goal to end the first half ahead. At the start of the second half, Wadi Al-Sahab returned with renewed determination, dominating possession and applying attacking pressure that resulted in the equalizer before scoring the decisive winning goal in the final minutes.
On the cultural front, the team completed a tournament double by winning the accompanying cultural competition with 50 points, compared with 35 points for Shabab Al-Sirah. Director of the Governorate's Youth and Sports Office, Dr. Fakhr Al-Din Al-Bashiri, said the tournament reflects efforts to develop a new generation of footballers with the technical capabilities needed to compete and eventually strengthen national clubs with professional players.
