Ibb: The Local Water and Sanitation Corporation, the General Authority for Water Resources and Water Facilities, and the Rural Water Authority in Ibb governorate organized a speech event on Tuesday to commemorate Ashura under the slogan 'Far Be It from Us to Accept Humiliation.' The event focused on the values of sacrifice, steadfastness, and resistance to oppression exemplified by Imam Hussein.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event was attended by Engineer Sadiq Qamaz, Director of the Rural Water Authority, and featured a speech by Director of Water Resources Mohammed al-Warafi. Al-Warafi highlighted the significant status of Imam Hussein and his enduring revolution, which he described as a humanitarian and faith-based school teaching sacrifice, selflessness, and resistance against injustice. He emphasized that the uprising of Karbala continues to guide individuals toward truth and dignity across various eras.
Al-Warafi further explained that Imam Hussein's values remain deeply ingrained in the conscience of those who champion freedom, reflecting principles of supporting the oppressed, defending justice, and promoting human dignity. He stressed the importance of drawing inspiration from these lessons to foster community development and strengthen social cohesion.
Deputy Director of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation Aziz Al-Duais remarked that Ashura offers an important spiritual and educational opportunity to remember Imam Hussein's noble stance against deviation and falsehood. He noted the current need for the values demonstrated in the Karbala revolution to address contemporary challenges, emphasizing the significance of patience, steadfastness, and insight.
Al-Duais also pointed out that Imam Hussein's example of sacrifice and responsibility enhances public awareness of adhering to authentic Islamic principles and values, promoting a spirit of service and community engagement.
Deputy Director of the General Authority for Water Resources Qais Awadah underscored that commemorating Imam Hussein's martyrdom provides a renewed educational foundation for teaching dignity, honor, and rejection of oppression. He affirmed that these values help strengthen awareness and responsibility while reinforcing commitment to fundamental principles and faith-based identity.
