Mahweet: The Women's Committee in Shibam Kawkaban district of Mahweet province organized a protest on Saturday condemning the recent act of insulting the Holy Quran by a U.S. political candidate.
According to Yemen News Agency, participants strongly denounced such provocative actions, describing them as blatant attacks on the religious and human values of Muslims worldwide and a violation of the principle of respect for religions and beliefs.
Speakers highlighted that these acts are part of a cultural and media campaign targeting Islam and its sacred symbols, led by global arrogance, particularly the U.S. and Israel, aiming to undermine the identity and core values of the Muslim nation.
The protest emphasized that defending the Quran requires practical adherence to its teachings, fostering community awareness, and reinforcing faith-based identity in behavior and conduct. Participants called on the free world to condemn such repeated offenses, confront hate speech, and support Islamic sanctities.
The protest also criticized silence over Quran desecration and attacks on Islam, urging a boycott of countries that permit such violations and advocating unity within the Muslim community to face hostile campaigns against the nation's sacred values.
