Mahweet Zakat Authority Launches In-Kind Aid Distribution for Over 2,000 Beneficiaries

Muscat: The General Zakat Authority office in Mahweet launched a project to distribute in-kind Zakat to 2,032 beneficiaries, including kidney failure and cancer patients, as well as the poor and needy across several districts.

According to Yemen News Agency, province undersecretaries Hamoud Shumlan and Hussein Arqad praised the authority's efforts in delivering Zakat fairly and transparently. They highlighted its role in alleviating suffering and promoting social solidarity amid difficult economic conditions. The project, managed by Nabil al-Qurmani, provides items such as raisins, sesame, dates, honey, and coffee, targeting needy patients from low-income families.

Hamid al-Radami, head of the local Zakat office, emphasized the authority's commitment to supporting the most vulnerable. He called on residents to promptly pay their Zakat to enable wider humanitarian coverage. The distribution follows an organized and transparent mechanism to ensure aid reaches all eligible recipients effectively, fulfilling Zakat's social solidarity objectives.
