Women’s Rallies in Hajjah Affirm Support for Armed Forces, Reject Claims of Targeting Mecca

Hajjah: The Women's Authority in Hajjah Governorate organized rallies reaffirming support for the armed forces, backing the 'blockade-for-blockade' equation, and rejecting Saudi claims that Mecca was targeted.

According to Yemen News Agency, participants in several areas of Al-Mahabishah, Kushar, Aflah Al-Yaman, Al-Miftah, Kahlan Al-Sharaf, Washhah, and Qarah districts chanted slogans of dignity, freedom, and resistance to what they described as the enemies of the nation. They stated that the Yemeni armed forces' operations against Saudi Arabia were a legitimate response and described them as a religious, moral, and humanitarian duty in defense of Yemen, its people, and Islamic causes.

The women rejected Saudi allegations that Mecca had been targeted, saying they were attempts to mobilize Muslim sentiment against Yemeni strikes on Saudi oil facilities. A statement issued at the rallies accused Saudi Arabia of supporting Israel's war on Gaza and said those who defend the sanctity of Mecca are not the ones who attack Islamic holy sites, but rather the Yemeni people, whom the Prophet Muhammad described as people of faith and wisdom.

The statement said the rallies were held to reject what it called a 'major falsehood' against the Yemeni people and to reaffirm their commitment to defending Islamic holy sites, including Mecca, Medina, and Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as supporting Palestine and other causes they consider just. It also reaffirmed the Yemeni people's right to respond to what it described as the Saudi accusation through 'legitimate means,' while entrusting the leadership and armed forces to determine the appropriate response and timing.
