Sana'a: A workshop was held at the Ministry of Administration and Local and Rural Development to discuss value chains for dairy, tomato, mango, and meat products. The workshop was organized by the Ministry with participation from the Ministries of Economy and Industry, Agriculture and Fisheries, and Social Affairs, as well as the Hodeidah Support and Development Fund, the Tihama Development Authority, the Agricultural Cooperative Union, the Agricultural Projects and Initiatives Financing Unit, the Bonyan Foundation, and dairy factories and associations.
According to Yemen News Agency, at the opening of the workshop, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Administration and Local and Rural Development, Mohammed Al-Madani, emphasized that the workshop aims to develop an executive plan to address the risks associated with the expiration of the temporary government subsidy on milk purchase prices. It also aims to develop practical solutions for dairy products, address the tomato slump, enhance mango sales, improve meat prices, deliver support to the poor, and unify efforts to overcome any obstacles to the success of the value chains.
