Sana'a: The Ministry of Culture and Tourism organized an awareness workshop on Monday for female staff members from the Ministry and its affiliated bodies and agencies, as part of the commemoration of the martyrdom of Imams Hussein and Zaid ibn Ali (peace be upon them).
According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop was attended by 78 female employees from the Ministry and its affiliated bodies and agencies. It addressed several topics, including the significance of commemorating Ashura, the concept of al-Wilayah (guardianship) of Imam Ali, the martyrdom of Imam Zayd (peace be upon them), and the consequences of neglecting the Hadith of Wilayah.
The workshop defined the term "Tulaqa'" (those freed after the conquest of Mecca), who were warned by Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) against aspiring to power. Discussions explored their vengeful tendencies, the role of the Ahlul-Bayt (the Prophet's family), and the enduring Yemeni and Karbala-like stances, both past and present.
Additionally, the workshop addressed the consequences of deviating from Imam Ali's leadership, including the martyrdom of Imam Zayd, and the circumstances that led him to revive the principle of enjoining good and forbidding evil.
At the workshop's opening, Madiha al-Ansi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for the Women's Sector, highlighted the importance of reviewing issues of national concern and raising awareness among women. The session offered an overview of the commemoration of Ashura, the lives of Imam Hussein and Imam Zaid (peace be upon them), their defense of truth, resistance against tyranny, and their stand against falsehood, as well as the reasons leading to Imam Hussein's martyrdom.
