Sana'a: The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sana'a University has initiated a two-day workshop aimed at reviewing and updating the course description documents for its graduate programs.
According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop is being organized in collaboration with the University's Center for Development and Quality Assurance. It brings together a select group of academics and quality experts to focus on professional doctoral, master's, and academic doctoral programs, as well as internal quality assurance requirements. The participants are tasked with reviewing the existing course description documents and analyzing their alignment with international competency standards.
University President Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti has stated that the development of graduate programs is a strategic priority for the institution. He emphasized that the process of updating course description documents is a comprehensive academic undertaking, designed to reconstruct programs based on precise scientific foundations. This process begins with the establishment of clearly defined and measurable learning outcomes and concludes with the implementation of a comprehensive evaluation system.
Dr. Al-Bukhaiti also noted that aligning the programs with the standards of the World Federation for Medical Education is a critical step toward enhancing international academic recognition. This alignment aims to expand opportunities for graduates in training, research, and global rankings.
Meanwhile, Faculty Dean Dr. Mohammed Al-Shahari explained that the workshop is part of a broader phased plan to review all graduate programs, including professional doctoral, master's, and academic doctoral courses. The goal is to rebuild learning outcome alignment matrices, develop assessment and evaluation mechanisms, and strengthen the integration between courses, clinical competencies, and research skills.
