Sana'a: A committee tasked with preparing a comprehensive plan to develop and localize the gold industry in Yemen convened in Sana'a to discuss the initial phase of a strategic plan extending from 2026 to 2036.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting was chaired by Dr. Yahya Al-Ajami, Deputy Assistant Minister of Oil for Mineral Affairs, and concentrated on the foundational stage of the plan. This stage includes the establishment, regulation, and control of the gold sector. The participants reviewed the primary components of the strategy, which aims to build an institutional framework for developing and organizing the gold trade and industry in Yemen.
The committee also examined technical and organizational feedback, making necessary adjustments to improve the draft plan. These changes are intended to ensure the plan aligns with proposed recommendations, providing a roadmap for long-term development in the sector.
