Yemen Scholars Association Condemns Al-Azhar Grand Imam’s Endorsement of Saudi Allegations

Doha:The Yemen Scholars Association has issued a strong condemnation of a statement made by the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, which endorsed allegations by the Saudi regime against Yemen. The statement in question accused Yemen of targeting the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, a claim that the Association has categorically rejected.

According to Yemen News Agency, the Association described the statement from the Grand Imam as a grave insult and a fabrication against the Yemeni people, who are recognized for their faith and wisdom. The Association emphasized the importance of adhering to principles of justice and verification of information before making accusations.

The Association further criticized the Saudi regime for its actions, particularly through what they termed the Entertainment Authority, which they argue undermines the sanctity of Mecca and Medina. They also accused the Saudi regime of exploiting religious sites to further its aggressive and divisive policies, supported by both American and Israeli interests.

The Yemen Scholars Association reiterated its openness to Islamic initiatives aimed at peaceful resolution and reconciliation, in a manner that aligns with divine principles rather than international political agendas. The Association called for the withdrawal of the Grand Imam's statement as a step towards clearing the misrepresentations it believes have been made against Yemen.
