Sana'a: The Yemeni Armed Forces have announced a significant military offensive aimed at countering what they describe as the "criminal Saudi enemy" and its continued aggression against Yemen. The operation, named "Allah is Stronger in Might and More Severe in Punishment," seeks to dismantle Saudi-backed forces' presence on Yemen's western coast.
According to Yemen News Agency, the military operation was launched on September 3rd with the support of local tribes and the Yemeni people. It comes in response to ongoing military actions by Saudi-backed forces against civilians and communities, which have intensified over recent months. The Yemeni Armed Forces have expressed their intention to defend their territory and support the oppressed Palestinian people as part of their broader objectives.
The operation has reportedly succeeded in achieving several key military goals. First, Yemeni forces have expelled Saudi troops from six districts within the governorates of Taiz and Hodeidah, reclaiming an area of 5,400 square kilometers. In addition, the operation has targeted seven military divisions of Saudi forces, resulting in significant casualties, including the killing, capturing, and wounding of hundreds of Saudi-backed soldiers.
Furthermore, Yemeni forces have liberated numerous prisoners who were held by Saudi mercenaries on the western coast. The Armed Forces also conducted 32 intercept operations against Saudi warplanes, successfully shooting down nine aircraft despite heavy aerial support from Saudi Arabia.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have praised the support and sacrifices of their army and the Yemeni people in the fight for liberation and sovereignty. They have also assured the safety of maritime navigation for all companies, with the exception of Saudi vessels currently under blockade.
The Armed Forces have reiterated their commitment to a reciprocal approach of "a siege for a siege" and proportional responses to any further aggression until the Saudi-led blockade against Yemen is lifted.
