Sana'a: The Yemeni Association for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Blind celebrated the union of 88 couples in a significant mass wedding event. This eighth mass wedding for the blind was organized with the collaboration of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and funded by the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled.
According to Yemen News Agency, the event saw Sultan Al-Samai, a member of the Supreme Political Council, offering his congratulations to the newlyweds. He emphasized the importance of marriage in completing half of one's faith and noted the celebration as a national event that united participants from different Yemeni provinces. Al-Samai also expressed his appreciation for the supporters who contributed to the event, stating that disability does not hinder individuals from achieving their dreams and building families.
Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Samir Bajjalah also congratulated the couples. He praised the attendees for their participation and acknowledged the support of the Revolution Leader, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badruddin Al-Houthi, in addressing the needs of vulnerable groups. Bajjalah highlighted the role of the Fund for the Care and Rehabilitation of the Disabled and urged for measures to facilitate marriage and reduce dowry costs.
The wedding was attended by various leaders and representatives from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Capital Secretariat, and other associations. Hamoud Al-Naqeeb, head of the Social Affairs Committee in the Capital Secretariat, expressed gratitude to the Fund and contributors for their role in organizing the event. He emphasized the unity and resilience of the Yemeni people and the importance of supporting national causes, including Gaza.
Abdulaziz Balhaj, head of the Yemeni Association for the Care of the Blind, reiterated the association's commitment to supporting the blind in areas such as education, employment, and marriage. He thanked all sponsors and contributors for their efforts in facilitating the mass wedding event.
The ceremony included choral performances, traditional segments, and gift distributions, with the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor being honored for his efforts in supporting societal issues and vulnerable groups.
