Sana'a: The Yemeni Journalists Union on Thursday mourned the passing of prominent media and national figure Mohammed Abdulaziz, a member of the Union's Inspection and Oversight Committee, who died after a long career marked by professionalism, dedication, and responsibility.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Union praised the contributions of the late Abdulaziz, describing him as a model professional journalist, conscious writer, and serious researcher whose work left a lasting impact on Yemen's media landscape. Abdulaziz began his journalism career in 1987 at Al-Rayah newspaper in Aden, where he worked as a reporter, writer, and language editor before moving to 26 September newspaper.
Over the course of his career, he held several senior editorial positions, including Managing Editor, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Editor-in-Chief, and Advisor to the Director of the Moral Guidance Department for Media Affairs. He also served as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Army Magazine and worked as a press and media advisor for several national newspapers and institutions, contributing his extensive experience and professional insight to the development of responsible journalistic practice.
The Union noted that Abdulaziz was among Yemen's most distinguished writers and researchers, producing numerous studies and articles that enriched the media and intellectual spheres. His writings focused on national and pan-Arab causes, particularly the Palestinian cause. The Yemeni Journalists Union expressed its deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the family of the deceased, his colleagues, and the wider media community, praying that God grant him mercy, admit him into Paradise, and bestow patience and comfort upon his family and loved ones.
