Sana'a: The Yemeni Parliament has been monitoring the actions and measures that attempt to undermine national sovereignty, including the Saudi announcement of a so-called draft memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Geological Survey and the mercenary government, which poses a serious threat to Yemeni geological information and sovereign data.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Parliament issued a statement warning the countries waging aggression against Yemen and their mercenaries of the dangers contained in the aforementioned memorandum and the resulting damage to Yemeni resources, or their exploitation, under the guise of this alleged agreement. The Parliament affirmed that this action constitutes an infringement upon and violation of the economic and military national security of the Republic of Yemen, and that acquiescence to it is treason and a betrayal of national sovereignty.
The Yemeni Parliament, based in its constitutional headquarters in the capital Sana'a, issued a statement, based on its constitutional and legal powers, warning against any action that infringes upon national sovereignty. It asserted that those who harbor ill intentions towards Yemen and their mercenaries have no right or authority to tamper with or undermine Yemen's unity and sovereignty.
The statement continued, "Within the framework of the constitutional and legal powers that empower the Parliament to address any such understandings, the Parliament warns all those who would dare to compromise the security, stability, and resources of the Yemeni people and be drawn into these conspiracies. The Parliament categorically rejects granting any mandate to dispose of the Yemeni people's resources and sovereign wealth."
The Parliament reiterated its warning against aligning with plans for division or harming the Yemeni people's resources, wealth, achievements, unity, security, and stability. It emphasized that any entity claiming affiliation with or authority over any Yemeni entity outside the capital Sana'a to handle sovereign matters will be held accountable.
The Parliament described the aforementioned memorandum of understanding as an illegal act issued by mercenaries who do not represent Yemen, adding, "Geological data falls under Yemen's national economic security, and therefore, the House warns the so-called 'government of mercenaries of aggression' against tampering with Yemeni resources."
The Parliament also called upon everyone, especially Yemeni media outlets, to recognize their national, legal, and moral responsibility in confronting and warning against this move, which aims to tamper with Yemen's sovereign resources. It pointed out that the so-called "government of mercenaries" does not represent the Yemeni people, and any deals it concludes with any country in the world in the name of Yemen, whether regionally, internationally, or with countries hostile to Yemen, especially Saudi Arabia, do not represent the Republic of Yemen in any way.
