Sanaa:Member of the Supreme Political Council, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, has responded to recent remarks by former U.S. President Donald Trump, asserting that Yemen will remain resilient against any attempts to undermine its dignity and sovereignty.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Bin Habtoor condemned Trump's description of certain countries and peoples as "dirty," labeling it not as a mere electoral mistake, but as an explicit expression of a racist colonial mindset. He criticized this mentality for viewing other nations with a sense of superiority and domination, thereby denying fundamental human dignity as upheld by international covenants.
Dr. Bin Habtoor further stated to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that Yemen, along with Libya, Somalia, and Haiti, are nations rich in history and civilization. He emphasized that these countries have suffered due to policies of domination and foreign intervention, for which Washington and its allies are directly responsible. He challenged those discussing terrorism and chaos to first reflect on their own roles in creating crises and destabilizing these regions.
He criticized Trump's favoritism towards countries like Norway, Sweden, and Denmark as a reflection of double standards and the classification of humans based on racist criteria, which he firmly rejected. Dr. Bin Habtoor reiterated the resilience of the Yemeni people, who continue to assert their sovereignty and dignity against powerful adversities, affirming Yemen's resolve to resist any efforts to undermine its independence and the will of its citizens.
