Sana'a: Yemeni scholars strongly condemned the American and Zionist insult to the Holy Qur'an, the most sacred of sanctities. This came in a statement issued by the expanded scholarly meeting held on Saturday in the capital Sana'a under the title 'The Responsibility of Scholars in Defending the Book of Allah and the Sanctities, and Mobilizing the Ummah for Jihad against America and Israel,' organized by the Yemeni Scholars Association, with the participation of a group of eminent scholars from various governorates.
According to Yemen News Agency, the statement affirmed that whoever committed this insult is lawfully forfeited of protection, considering this the punishment for anyone who insults Islamic sanctities, holding the US administration responsible for the repercussions of the insult. The statement, read by member of the Yemeni Scholars Association Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakkil, considered the insult to the Holy Qur'an and similar acts as further evidence of the correctness of the free people of the Ummah who oppose America and Israel and confront them, and as additional proof against those who remain inactive and merely watch without taking action.
It pointed out that the crime of the insult and similar acts constitute a stain of shame on the forehead of everyone who colludes with and aligns himself with the American and Israeli enemy. Yemeni scholars called on the Islamic Ummah to make a serious and sincere return to the Holy Qur'an-seeking guidance from it, taking pride in it, reflecting upon it, reciting it, responding to and submitting to its rulings and commands, embodying and committing to the faith-based, moral, educational, economic, political, and jihad values brought by the Qur'an, and presenting practical testimony that it is the path to salvation for bewildered humanity.
They held the leaders of the Arab and Islamic Ummah partly responsible for the repeated insults to Islamic sanctities due to their alignment with America, their silence over previous insults, and their failure to take serious and effective positions that would deter anyone who dares to violate the sanctities, calling on them to shoulder their responsibilities in defending the Book of Allah and supporting the sanctities.
The scholars urged the Ummah at large, as well as scholarly bodies and institutions, to fulfill their religious and moral duty toward the grave violations being committed against Islamic sanctities, foremost among them the insult to the Holy Qur'an and to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, and to all prophets and messengers. They stressed the necessity of igniting the spirit of jihad and declaring mobilization to confront the forces of tyranny and their allies-'America and Israel'-renewing the call to Arab and Islamic regimes and the peoples of the Ummah to boycott America, Israel, and Britain politically and economically and to sever all forms of relations, as an expression of indignation and an embodiment of the principle of loyalty and disavowal.
The statement pointed to the importance and effectiveness of the slogan raised in the face of the arrogant, and of raising it as a weapon and a stance, especially after fighting the battle of 'Al-Aqsa Flood, the Promised Victory, and the Sacred Jihad,' considering the gas deal concluded by the Egyptian regime with the usurping Zionist entity to be religiously forbidden, as the gas belongs to the Palestinian people and is their right, and there is no legitimacy for the Zionist entity to exist on the land of Palestine or to dispose of its resources.
The scholars clarified that it is a religious duty to provide relief to Gaza and support it, not to support the Zionist entity or reward it. Yemeni scholars praised the faithful stance of the Yemeni people and their historic turnout in Al-Sabeen Square and all squares in the free governorates to express anger and support for the Book of Allah, a stance that reflects authentic faith identity, renewing praise for the unprecedented historic tribal gatherings in support of Gaza and all of Palestine, and calling for high readiness in preparation for the coming round with America, Israel, and their agents.
The statement called on Yemeni scholars, the Yemeni people, and their scholarly, intellectual, academic, and cultural elites to widely and prominently revive the Friday of Rajab to entrench faith identity and its great values, which represent immunity and protection from the soft satanic war that has struck the Ummah's jihad spirit and distracted its youth from supporting its causes, foremost among them Gaza, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and Palestine. At the conclusion of the statement, the scholars affirmed the obligation to support Gaza, provide relief to its people, support the oppressed in the West Bank, and stand sincerely and practically with Hezbollah and the free people of Syria.
