Yemen’s Public Prosecutor Commands Release of Detainees at Sanaa Prison

Yemen: Yemen's Public Prosecutor, Judge Abdul Salam Al-Houthi, recently conducted an inspection of the Central Correctional Facility and the General Anti-Narcotics Department in Sanaa. This visit is part of ongoing efforts to release eligible inmates in commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday.

According to Yemen News Agency, during his visit, Judge Al-Houthi supervised the execution of a convict who had been sentenced for the kidnapping and rape of a young girl. In addition, he reviewed the legal cases and conditions of the detainees within the facility. Following this review, Judge Al-Houthi ordered the release of several prisoners deemed eligible for release.

The releases were authorized under a pardon issued by the leadership, aiming to promote justice, mercy, and the reintegration of these individuals into society.
