Sanaa: Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Nabih Nasser and Capital Local Council Secretary Amin Jamaan inaugurated the ‘Descendants of Bilal’ football tournament, marking the commencement of the 9th Al-Wehda Ramadan Forum.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Deputy Minister lauded the participants for their dedication to community service, describing them as exemplars of hard work and commitment. He also praised Al-Wehda Club for dedicating the tournament to honor loyalty and foster social solidarity.
Al-Wehda Club Secretary-General Mohammed Al-Sadiq emphasized the forum’s importance in offering safe sports venues, promoting fair competition, and enhancing youth participation. Sanitation Fund Executive Director Mohammed Sharaf noted that events like these uplift morale and encourage civic responsibility.
In the tournament’s initial matches, Bilal Shuaib’s team triumphed over Al-Sabeen with a score of 7-0, while Ittefaq Asr defeated Tofan Al-Aqsa with a 6-0 victory. The tournament serves as the forum’s opening event, which will also showcase paddle tennis, equestrian sports, volleyball, and various cultural and religious activities.
