Second Edition of Al-Hubaishi Foundation Ramadan Tournament Kicks Off in Hodeidah

Hodeidah: The competitions of the second edition of the Al-Hubaishi Foundation Ramadan Football Tournament kicked off today at the Al-Olfi Sports Stadium in Hodeidah city. The tournament is organized by the branch of the Sports for All Federation under the patronage of the Governor of the Governorate, with the supervision of the Youth and Sports Office, and support from the Al-Hubaishi Commercial Foundation.



According to Yemen News Agency, sixteen teams are participating in the tournament, which follows a knockout system. During the inauguration, the Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate, Emad Al-Barai, praised the level of organization and community initiatives that support the youth and sports sector, affirming the importance of Ramadan activities in honing talents and promoting sportsmanship among the governorate’s youth.



The opening match witnessed celebratory atmospheres and a notable audience turnout. Al-Qadisiyah team managed to secure the first qualification card for the upcoming rounds by defeating the Al-Irshad Academy in a penalty shootout with a score of “5-4,” after the original match time ended in a positive draw with one goal each.



In the second match, the July 7 Dam team joined the ranks of qualifiers after overcoming the Yarmouk team in a penalty shootout “4-3,” following a “1-1” draw in regular time. The match was characterized by competitiveness and excitement in the presence of a large crowd.



The tournament competitions are scheduled to continue tomorrow afternoon with a match bringing together the Sinai and Al-Majd Academy teams to determine the third qualifier.
