Sana'a: The Ministry of Youth and Sports commenced a two-day workshop on Sunday in the capital, Sana'a, to invigorate the annual plans and programs of provincial youth and sports offices for the 1448 AH year. The event also aims to coordinate preparations for the upcoming activities marking the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad's birthday.

According to Yemen News Agency, the workshop gathers directors from the ministry's provincial offices and officials from relevant sectors. The discussions focus on developing mechanisms to enhance youth and sports activities, improve administrative and field performance, and strengthen coordination in implementing programs efficiently. This initiative seeks to meet the aspirations of young people and athletes while enhancing their participation in national affairs.

Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Nabih Nasser, while opening the event, highlighted the workshop as a crucial opportunity to evaluate past performances and set the stage for a new phase of organized and strategic work. He lauded youth and sports officials for sustaining activities despite limited resources. Nasser reiterated the ministry's commitment to supporting and developing young people, whom he described as the foundation of the country's future, and emphasized the importance of improving the performance of provincial offices through ongoing institutional support. He also stressed the need for thorough preparations for the Prophet Muhammad's birthday commemorations.

Nasser added that the country's leadership continues to prioritize the youth and sports sector, acknowledging the role of young people in national defense, development efforts, and public support initiatives.

During the first session of the workshop, attended by Deputy Minister for Sports Ali Hadban, participants reviewed the performance of provincial youth and sports offices over the past year. The session included a presentation of a working paper titled "Survey, Inventory and Documentation of the Ministry of Youth and Sports' Land and Buildings," prepared by Deputy Minister for Youth Abdullah Al-Razhi and Projects Director Engineer Ahmed Al-Tuwaiti. The proposal aims to create a comprehensive national map and database of ministry-owned land and sports facilities to protect them from encroachment.

Additionally, participants discussed a second paper presented by Investment Director Ahmed Fayea, titled "A New Vision for Sports Investment: From Sponsorship-Based Management to Sustainable Development." This proposal seeks to develop sustainable revenue sources to ensure the continuity of youth and sports activities across the country's provinces.
