Sana'a: A committee tasked with drafting regulations for international bidding on petroleum blocks met in Sana'a on Sunday, chaired by Minister of Oil and Minerals Dr. Abdullah Al-Amir. The meeting reviewed the completion of the final procedures for preparing the regulations as part of the ministry's efforts to strengthen the legislative and regulatory framework for the oil and gas sector and improve the investment climate.
According to Yemen News Agency, the committee approved the final version after incorporating all technical and legal comments submitted during the drafting and review process. Committee members also signed the final draft, paving the way for the completion of the legal procedures required for its formal approval.
Minister Al-Amir described the completion of the regulations as the result of coordinated institutional efforts between committee members and relevant authorities. He said the regulations would establish clear rules for international bidding on petroleum blocks, ensuring transparency, fairness, and equal opportunities. He also commended the committee members for their efforts throughout the drafting process and stressed the importance of completing the remaining procedures so the regulations can be officially issued and implemented.
