Sana'a: Youth and Sports Deputy Minister Nabih Nasser honored the winners of the promotional championship for Kung Fu categories, organized by the General Federation of the sport under the supervision of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and supported by the Youth and Children Sponsorship Fund.
According to Yemen News Agency, the championship was held at the Martyr Hassan Zaid Hall in the Al-Thawra Sports City and featured competitions for players from the grassroots, juniors, and youth categories representing the Capital Secretariat and Sana'a Governorate. The matches were overseen by eight referees, headed by Mansour Lawza.
Competitions for the grassroots category included Sanda (combat) and Taolu (demonstration) events in the weight classes of 25, 28, 30, 35, and 37 kg, in both Nanchuan and Sanchuan styles.
For the juniors category, competitions were held in the 39, 42, 45, 48, 52, and 56 kg weight classes, in Nanchuan and Sanchuan styles. The youth category competed in 48, 52, 56, 60, and 65 kg weight classes, across Sanchuan, Nanchuan, and Taiji styles.
The closing ceremony featured Kung Fu performance segments presented by several participating players. Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, along with Secretary-General of the Olympic Committee Mohammed Al-Ahjeri and President of the Kung Fu Federation Mohammed Rawah, awarded winners from all age groups and weight classes with trophies and colorful medals.
