Zakat Team Nears Qualification for Second Round of Telecommunications Tournament

Sana'a: The team of the General Authority for Zakat moved closer to qualifying for the second round of the 9th Yemeni Telecommunications Football Tournament for Companies, following a convincing 5-2 victory over the Yemeni Authority for Specifications and Measurements.

According to Yemen News Agency, in the fourth round matches of the tournament, organized by the Companies Union under the patronage of Yemen Telecom, the Zakat team dominated the match, scoring five goals through Sharaaf Al-Qatami (two goals), Baleegh Al-Kahlani, Mansour Al-Matari, and an own goal. The two goals for the Specifications Authority were scored by Zaid Al-Habishi and Ashraf Saif.

In the same group, the Sana'a Water Company team secured its second victory in the tournament, defeating the Telemen Company team by three goals to nil, scored by Fares Al-Salhi, Mohammed Al-Haj, and Emad Mujahid.

Meanwhile, the match between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Yemen and Kuwait Bank ended in a 1-1 draw. The Ministry's player Ali Al-Nono opened the scoring, before Bank player Alaa Al-Ramim equalized in the 36th minute.

With these results, the Zakat Authority team strengthened its lead in Group Four with 10 points, followed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in second place with 7 points, then the Yemen and Kuwait Bank in third place with 6 points, ahead of Sana'a Water on goal difference in fourth with the same points. Telemen remained in fifth place with 2 points, while the Specifications and Measurements team's tally remained at 1 point in sixth and last place, confirming their elimination from the tournament in the group stage.
