Sana'a: Today in Sana'a, the training program for developing the capacities of leaders and staff of Al-Dhale University began. It is being implemented over three days by the 21 September University for Medical and Applied Sciences within the framework of joint cooperation between the two parties and benefiting from the institutional, administrative, and academic expertise and experiences of 21 September University.
According to Yemen News Agency, the program aims to develop the capacities of 25 participants representing the leaders and staff of Al-Dhale University in administrative, academic, institutional, and research aspects, and to benefit from the experiences of 21 September University and the successes and achievements it has made over the past five years in various fields.
It includes engaging the participants from Al-Dhale University's leaders and staff in field training visits to learn about the various sectors and departments of 21 September University, according to a schedule that allows them to directly observe work mechanisms and procedures followed in academic, administrative, research, financial, technical, and technological aspects.
Leaders of 21 September University, general directors, deans of faculties, and heads of departments and sections provided detailed explanations, each in their area of expertise, about the nature of work and tasks, planning, implementation, follow-up, and evaluation mechanisms, in addition to reviewing practical experiences that contributed to developing institutional performance and achieving many successes in university management, quality and academic accreditation, digital transformation, automation, and student services.
Participants reviewed a number of applied models in the areas of admission and registration, student affairs, human resources, financial and administrative affairs, quality and accreditation, information technology, media, and public relations, as well as coordination mechanisms between different sectors to achieve institutional integration and improve performance efficiency and university services.
The Secretary-General of the University, Abdulkarim Al-Akhali, affirmed that the program comes in implementation of the university leadership's directives aimed at enhancing cooperation between Yemeni universities and exchanging successful experiences and knowledge among them.
He pointed out that the first day was allocated for direct field observation of the nature of work in the various sectors and departments of 21 September University, explaining that the second day will include open meetings between leaders and officials of various sectors and departments at the university and the leaders and staff of Al-Dhale University to discuss practical experiences, answer inquiries, and exchange visions and expertise in various fields of university work.
According to Al-Akhali, the third day will be dedicated to reviewing the comprehensive experience of university management, learning about planning, leadership, decision-making, and institutional performance management mechanisms, enabling participants to benefit from accumulated experiences and employ them in developing their work and institutions.
He noted that the university has mobilized all its capabilities and staff to ensure the success of the training program and achieve its objectives, contributing to strengthening academic partnership and institutional integration between the two universities and serving the higher education sector in Yemen.
On the sidelines of the training program, a meeting was held between the presidents of 21 September University for Medical and Applied Sciences, Dr. Mujahid Maasar, and Al-Dhale University, Dr. Ali Al-Tariq, to discuss mechanisms for enhancing areas of cooperation and joint coordination between the two universities, particularly regarding training and qualification, developing institutional and academic performance, and scientific research.
During the meeting, Dr. Maasar expressed the readiness of 21 September University to place its expertise and scientific and academic capabilities at the service of Yemeni higher education institutions, indicating that the training program comes within the framework of enhancing integration between universities and exchanging successful experiences, contributing to the development of institutional and academic performance.
He mentioned that the university's leaders and staff will work during the program days to transfer their practical expertise and experiences in various areas of university management, quality, accreditation, automation, institutional development, and all sectors of the university to the leaders and staff of Al-Dhale University, achieving the desired benefit from the program.
For his part, the President of Al-Dhale University, Dr. Al-Tariq, praised the achievements and qualitative developments made by 21 September University over the past years, and its current leading position in medical and applied education across Yemen.
He expressed his appreciation for the university leadership's keenness to transfer its experience and expertise to Al-Dhale University's staff, enhancing their institutional and academic capacities and contributing to the development of university work.
The meeting was attended by the Vice President of 21 September University for Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Saleem Al-Rayashi, the Vice Presidents of Al-Dhale University for Academic Affairs, Dr. Yahya Ahmed, and for Student Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Al-Dheeb, along with leaders, deans of faculties, their deputies, and general directors from both 21 September University and Al-Dhale University.
