Sana'a: A meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, chaired by Ministry Undersecretary for Marketing Sector Mohsen Atif, discussed on Monday mechanisms for regulating the import of agricultural products and strengthening public-private partnerships. The meeting included importers of grains, legumes, rice, and animal feed, focusing on strategies to manage stock levels for the current year and address issues with products stranded in countries of origin or at ports.

According to Yemen News Agency, the participants reviewed procedures for regulating new product imports and their formal registration. Quality control and product safety were key topics, with a consensus to submit data on stocks and stranded products using designated forms for necessary review and action. The importance of ongoing coordination and regular meetings was highlighted to ensure market stability.

Atif emphasized the ministry's dedication to eliminating obstacles and facilitating the issuance of import permits to maintain a steady flow of commodities, balancing market demands with the protection of local production. He pointed out promising export opportunities for national products such as black sesame, sorghum, millet, fruits, and fish, urging importers to use their foreign market access to create new pathways for Yemeni products.
